The delay in lifting Covid-19 restrictions in England, announced by the government last week, has meant that Play 2021, the new conference on children, play and space, will now be held solely online on 7-8 July.

The conference, long-planned as a possible hybrid event, was to have been held at the University of Birmingham and simultaneously streamed for online delegates.

The programme is unaltered and the University’s conference team will deploy a high-quality online platform to deliver the best possible experience for delegates.

The invited speaker line-up, including Kate Rowan, Helen Dodd, Tim Gill, Wendy Russell and many others can be read here. The full programme, including around 80 parallel presentations, derived from an extensive call for papers on the conference themes, will be published soon.

Tickets for the conference are still on sale.
